You will be spoilt for choice for places to eat out in Wells.    Below is just a selection.  All of these are within easy walking distance of Elgin Cottage.

Bang in Wells, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea
A lovely, colourful and quirky cafe and bar just a stone's throw from Elgin Cottage.  Fantastic breakfasts, but equally great for lunch or coffee and cake.  Particularly good for children, with games supplied, and all food served as half portions.

The Globe Inn, The Buttlands, Wells-next-the-Sea
Located in the historic Buttlands, a very short stroll from Elgin Cottage, the Globe Inn produces locally-sourced, consistently fresh and delicious meals in a lovely setting.  The children's menu is substantial, high quality (proper food, not just chicken nuggets and chips!) and very good value.

The Crown, The Buttlands, Wells-next-the-Sea.
Another excellent choice in the Buttlands.  Wonderful food in a wonderful setting!

Wells Crab House, Freeman Street, Wells-next-the-Sea
A deservedly very popular local restaurant with superb seafood.

The Golden Fleece, the Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea
Great setting, with fantastic views, on the quay.   Wonderful, local source.  Open for lunch and evening meals and throughout the day for coffee and cake.

Season Seafood and Grill, the Quay, Wells-next-the Sea
A relatively new restaurant which is already very popular.  Superb seafood and meat in a very tasteful setting.

French's fish and chip shop, the Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea
No visit to Wells would be complete without fish and chips from French's, area winner of the 2016 National Fish and Chip Awards

Arthur Howell Bakery, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea
Not a cafe but we couldn't miss this amazing bakery from the list.    From the high quality bacon rolls to the scrumptious tiffin, everything is done to perfection.  Huge selection, great value.

The Howell empire also includes a fishmongers, deli and butchers, all on Staithe Street, and all have the hallmark Howells mark of high quality produce.  Very highly recommended.

The Picnic Hut, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea
Local, quality produce.  The freshly-caught and freshly-made crab rolls are a local favourite, as is the mouth-watering dairy ice cream.  Perfect for a pit-stop or to stock up on a picnic to take to the beach.

Wells Deli, the Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea
Lovely deli with high quality food (cheese scones highly recommended).  The perfect spot, opposite the harbour, for people watching or for watching the boats go by.  Lovely lunches, coffee and cakes.
